About Us
Ajani Neighbourhood House is a community-based non profit organisation that provides a wide range of quality courses and activities to create a healthy, connected, empowered, inclusive, diverse community.
Our
Story
It all started in 1989 when a committee got funding to create a community house in Bulleen. The first classes were in ESL, crafts, and cooking, all run by volunteers, and that's how Bulleen and Templestowe Community House was created.
Over the years, more programs were added, like "Strong People Stay Young," computer classes, and programs for young people with disabilities.
In July 2012, they moved to a new facility at Ted Ajani Reserve and two years later the name was changed from BATCH to Living and Learning @ Ajani to better reflect their work and location.
In late 2024, we changed our name to Ajani Neighbourhood House. It's a name that better reflects who we are as an organisation and what we bring to the community. Today, we offer more than 40 courses and activities every term along with initiatives like the Recycling Scheme and our Food Pantry.
